I first started learning Yiddish through song, when I joined a Yiddish choir run by the wonderful Yiddish singer and Cantor-in-training Rachel Weston. Singing in Yiddish remains one of my favourite pastimes, and as my Yiddish has improved I have also started adapting Yiddish songs, translating them into English, and also translating some of my favourite English songs into Yiddish.
Although not strictly related to my research, singing has played an important role in my immersion into Yiddish language and culture, and here I'll share some of my translations and adaptations. As with all my work, I would love for them to be shared and performed. When relevant please credit me with translation.
